We are a small congregation in Northern New York, affiliated with American Baptist Churches,USA. We are a conservative, evangelical, and ecumenical congregation involved in evangelism and world missions.

We were established in 1833 as a group of people who wish to win people to Christ, to help Christians grow, and to help people who hurt.

The women of First Baptist welcomes all ladies to join us for meetings several times throughout the year.  We have programs and conduct business, pray for and support several missionaries, and work on providing food for several events. We hold rummage sales/bake sales 2 times a year - once in the Spring and once in the Fall.  Watch the newspaper for dates and how to donate items.

It is that time of year again and we are offering, in combination with United Community Church, a fun Vacation Bible School from August 22 through 26 2011.  It will be at the First Baptist Church from 9:30 - 12:00 each day.  Family members are encouraged to join the children each day at 11:35 because that is when we will be having The Mane Event = a daily celebration of God's love you won't want to miss.  Come and join us in the Serengeti, where kids are wild about God!  For information, please call Mary Wolf at 493-0276.  Also, if you can help, please call her!  For the new year - 2011-2012, we are continuing to have a MOMSNext Group! This includes the MOPS - (Mothers of Preschoolers) as well as the MOMSNext women who are mothers of school age children! We will still be meeting at the church (511 State Street, Carthage) on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month unless otherwise notified. As always, please check on Channel 10 in case of inclement weather. We follow the Carthage School District policy for snow days.
